Dillon Danis fight return confirmed as Jake Paul leaks details of controversial star’s comeback

Dillon Danis is coming back in competition as he looks to redeem himself after a lacklustre boxing debut.

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt is better known as a Mixed Martial Artist than a boxer, but made waves when he faced Logan Paul last October. He was disqualified in the sixth round after a farcical outing against the YouTube star, but has been teasing a return to the cage this year.

And it appears that he could be working with Misfits Boxing again after a cryptic Instagram comment from Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions appeared to leak details of his next date. Danis has also teased fight news, with the bout expected this summer.

Dillon Danis confirms return to fighting after Logan Paul defeat

Danis was out of action for four years before facing Paul in his boxing debut after a series of surgeries for a knee injury. He never really got into the fight in Manchester as he messed around with his rival before eventually being disqualified at the end of the sixth for attempting a takedown.

But he will be returning to more serious competition later this year, with a number of major opponents being teased for his first fight back. It is expected that his comeback fight will be within the MMA cage, as opposed to the boxing ring.

He has previously claimed to have signed a contract to face BKFC superstar and former UFC welterweight champion Mike Perry. But he has also claimed to be facing a former world champion, which would rule out the fan favourite brawler.

In a recent post to social media, Danis shared a photo of himself at a training session. The picture came with the cryptic caption “Fight announcement soon,” accompanied by an emoji of a bag of money.

Jake Paul’s boxing promotion teases Misfits Boxing involvement in Dillon Danis fight

Jake Paul and his long-time YouTube boxing rival KSI were going back-and-forth on social media yesterday as they argued over terms for a prospective fight. The grudge match has been in the works since 2018, but has never been made for a number of reasons.

However, amid their back-and-forth tweets, Paul leaked that KSI’s comeback fight in August will be against former world lightweight champion Amir Khan. But that wasn’t the only piece of information that was released by the American’s team.

In a comment on Instagram under a post from The Bread Batch about the potential KSI vs Khan matchup, Most Valuable Promotions wrote: “That’s impressive. Good job Misfits Boxing moving away from Dillon Danis events in August.”

The comment appears to indicate that they will be working on an event involving Danis in June or July. Misfits boss Mams Taylor told Bloody Elbow last month that the promotion would be launching MMA fights this year, but refused to be drawn on if they would stage Danis vs Perry.

Interestingly, Misfits were almost forced to promote Danis vs Perry last October after an incident at the final press conference for his fight with Paul. The BKFC star had been drafted in as the fight’s back-up, but it was expected that was for the YouTuber given his opponent’s history of pulling out of fights.

However, when a fracas between Paul and Danis saw the social media star cut by a microphone, there were concerns that he may be pulled from the event by the commission. After Paul was rushed away, Danis faced off with Perry as the pair teased a potential bout which ultimately never came to fruition.
