PFL continue rebrand of Bellator as they sign major multi-year fighter gear deal for Champions Series

PFL has further stamped their brand on the new-look Bellator as they agreed to a multi-year fight gear deal with Takedown.

The sports brand has been working with PFL for a long time, and they will now be kitting out fighters on the Bellator Champions Series. Their first show together was this month’s Bellator Paris show, which saw a packed crowd at the Accor Arena cheer Cedric Doumbe back into the win column.

So far, the international fight series has travelled to Belfast and Paris, with further stops planned around the world for the rest of the year. They have dates booked in Dublin this summer, as well as San Diego, London, Chicago and more.

PFL announces new fighter kit deal for Bellator Champions Series

Takedown and PFL announced a deal for the promotion’s regular season last November, and launched it at their Championship event in Washington DC. And they are now adding Bellator to the stable after the companies’ merger at the end of last year.

PFL CEO Peter Murray said in a press release: “The Professional Fighters League is pleased to announce our elevated partnership with Takedown, the leader in combat sports apparel, to our world-class Bellator Champions Series fighters and ensure they are well-equipped with exceptional quality and design.”

“Takedown is thrilled to partner with Bellator to elevate the look and feel of fighters in the cage and fans across the world,” Dustin Kawa, Takedown Founder and CEO, added. “I’ve spent my entire life as an athlete, coach and entrepreneur dedicated to growing the combat space.

“Using Takedown’s industry expertise and Bellator’s elite global platform this partnership will create a movement that will change the way the MMA world looks forever.”

PFL re-signs Bellator legend Douglas Lima and confirm next fight

After a week of controversy for the promotion that included a number of disputes being made public, they have made a number of brief announcements regarding their roster. When Bellator was bought out at the end of last year, their sizeable roster transferred over.

However, a number of fighters have expressed concerns about their matchmaking, most notably former middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi. He has since been released by the promotion.

But they have managed to ink a new deal with welterweight legend Douglas Lima, with a statement today reading: “Douglas Lima has been re-signed to exclusive multi-year new agreement. We are excited to announce he will fight this Fall 2024.”
