UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has revealed he was recently swatted by armed police during a livestream session on the streaming platform, Twitch.
Sean O’Malley is a Twitch streamer by day and UFC champion by night, but that comes with its problems.
Big-name live streamers have become susceptible to being swatted while live on air, as viewers somehow attain their address and report false information to the police.
Unfortunately for the ‘Suga Show’ he was victim to this recently, as viewers gained access to his location and reported a false claim, resulting in him being raided by armed officers while live.
Sean O’Malley details the moment he was swatted
Although the moment was extremely unexpected, O’Malley admitted he instantly knew what was going on, as he has seen it happen to big streamers in the past.
“I feel like instantly I kind of knew. Because I’ve heard about Adin (Ross) and the big big streamers getting swatted. People find out where they’re at, they call the cops and say something happened that obviously didn’t happen.” O’Malley said on the Timbo and Sugar Show.
The 29-year-old champion went on to detail how it unfolded and gave a rundown on the situation.
“I peek my head out of the window to see cops and I think maybe it was something else, but then I see them on the intercoms and I see a bunch of cops and they shout, ‘Walk out with your hands up’, so I walk out.
“I was nervous but I was like, I’m just going to listen. I’ve got shotguns pointing at me from four different cops, I was just kind of nasal breathing.” O’Malley said.

Despite it being a completely unnatural situation for O’Malley, he decided to use the unnerving time as a chance to meditate and work on his breathing.
“I just used it as meditation because it’s moments like those that bring you into the present so much, so I was just breathing. Someone called the cops and said there was an active shooter and two dead people in the house.” O’Malley said.
O’Malley still hopeful of headlining UFC 306 at The Sphere
Since the UFC announced their UFC 306 event would take place at The Sphere in Las Vegas, ‘Suga’ has pushed to try and be the headliner.

Although his fight against Merab Dvalishvili is yet to be announced, he is still hopeful that he will be able to headline the event on September 14th.
“My people are going to know before anyone, so I’ll let my people know when I’m fighting and where. Could it be The Sphere, it very well could be, I have not gotten any confirmation that it is The Sphere.
“I was pushing for it heavily and then I slowed down pushing for it, just because I’m like, the UFC is going to do what the f*** the UFC wants to do so, let me know.” O’Malley added.
The only other title fight that has been rumored to be taking place on the Mexican Independence Day card, is Alexa Grasso vs Valentina Shevchenko 3. That fight, however, is unlikely to main event ahead of an O’Malley fight.
