Jake Paul teases next opponent after Mike Tyson could be former UFC title challenger as popular star confirms return

Jake Paul has teased that after facing Mike Tyson on July 20th, his next opponent could be the winner of a fight that’s just been added to the undercard.

As the upcoming fight between boxing icon Mike Tyson and social media sensation Jake Paul continues to generate headlines, the budding young superstar is already eyeing his next potential matchup.

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson undercard is slowly being built up

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will headline the July 20th event, to be streamed around the world via Netflix, with two iconic role models in the co-main event as Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano rematch for the WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, and Ring lightweight titles.

Luckily, Netflix has just confirmed two more fights that are set to support both Taylor-Serrano and Paul-Tyson, the first of which is a clash of two undefeated prospects Ashton ‘H20’ Sylve (11-0) and Floyd ‘Kid Austin’ Schofield (17-0).

Yet it’s the second newly announced fight that is understandably garnering more attention: The return of MMA fan favorite Darren ‘The Gorilla’ Till against former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Jake Paul says he’ll face the winner of the new undercard fight

Following confirmation that Darren Till vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr will be on the undercard of the event on July 20, Jake Paul took to Instagram to tease that after Tyson, the winner of that bout could very well be next.

Paul posted a screenshot of the announcement post with the caption: “I will take [on the] winner if they actually show out,” tagging co-founder of MVP promotions Nakisa Bidarian directly.

For non-MMA fans who might not recognize ‘The Gorilla’, Darren Till is a 31-year-old fighter from Liverpool, England who had one of the most sensational breakouts in UFC history.

He fought for the undisputed UFC welterweight title in just his seventh fight in the promotion, but after falling short to champion Tyron Woodley (also a former opponent of Jake Paul); Till lost his momentum and went 1-4 in his next five fights before stepping away from the sport last year.

Standing across the boxing ring from him on July 20 will be the former WBC middleweight king and son of the legendary Mexican superstar, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Chavez might be 53-6-1 as a professional boxer, whilst Till is set to make his boxing debut, but the Mexican athlete hasn’t competed since a unanimous decision victory in 2021.

Interestingly, the last loss of Chavez Jr’s professional career came not against a fellow boxing sensation, but against one of Till’s fellow UFC stars in the form of Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva.

Darren Till vows to return to the UFC to win undisputed glory

Whilst Till might be making his long-awaited debut in the boxing ring, the popular Liverpudlian remains confident that he will one day, make his return to the UFC in the hope of finally capturing undisputed gold.

Speaking on The MMA Hour, Till vowed to make his return in spectacular fashion: “That’s the goal for me, I’m going to win a UFC title, I know I am.”

“I’m going to come into this boxing scene in a storm and then I’m going to go back to the UFC get a title and say right, I did it I was one of the best see you later, bye-bye.”

Till had already been called out earlier this year for a bareknuckle boxing match by Mike Perry, although he dismissed the idea as he feels BKFC is for fighters nearer the end of their careers.

Interestingly, Mike Perry himself claimed that he was actually offered the fight with Chavez Jr on the Tyson vs Paul undercard but turned the contract down due to low pay – and the round-robin continues.

Darren Till returns to action on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas exclusively on Netflix.
