Dillon Danis claims he has ‘already signed’ for MMA return against beloved UFC veteran… ‘This is gonna be war’

Controversial jiu-jitsu black belt Dillon Danis is heading back to the MMA cage, and seems to have a big name opponent picked out.

The former Bellator star last stepped into the cage in 2019 before suffering a series of injuries that kept him out for four years. But last October he did make his boxing debut against YouTuber Logan Paul in an outlandish Misfits bout.

Now, Danis is keen to return to his roots and engage with his jiu-jitsu base as he makes his comeback to the cage. And he is set to take on one of the biggest names in combat sports currently when he makes that return.

Dillon Danis signs up for fight with BKFC star Mike Perry

Danis has been going back and forth with bare knuckle boxer and former UFC star Mike Perry for the past few months. And he is now claiming that he has signed his end of a contract for the pair to fight under MMA rules.

The fight would be Perry’s first in the cage since leaving the UFC in 2021 and emerging as one of BKFC’s biggest stars. He hasn’t lost in the ring since leaving MMA, but has remained training and is open to other disciplines.

Yesterday, Perry shared a photo of the pair together with the caption “You’re not gonna do it Dillon Danis” on Instagram. But the jiu-jitsu specialist quickly replied by declaring that the contract was “Already signed on my end chicken legs.”

Mike Perry and Dillon Danis almost fought in Misfits Boxing

There is history between Danis and Perry dating back to that infamous fight with Paul last October at the Misfits Boxing Prime Card. After the controversial black belt pulled out of a January fight with KSI it was imperative that the promotion set up a back-up fighter, and the bare knuckle boxer was drafted in.

However, it almost ended up that Paul would be the one missing the fight after a stunt with Danis went wrong at their final press conference. The pair threw items at one another, with a microphone cutting the WWE star and putting the bout at risk.

While doctors looked over Paul’s cut, Danis stayed on stage and posed for a face-off with Perry on stage. The pair appeared friendly, but were up for fighting one another. However, the commission controversially cleared the fight and Danis ended up being disqualified against Paul.

Dillon Danis declares Mike Perry fight will be ‘war’

After the controversy surrounding his fight with Paul, where he threw minimal offence, Danis is keen to re-establish himself in the fight game. He managed to make the pay-per-view a massive seller with his unique build-up, but disappointed fans on the night.

Now, Danis has a chance to redeem himself against one of the toughest fighters in the world. And speaking candidly with his supporters on social media, he said: “This is what I want: A real fight against a real gangster, not someone who runs.

“I can’t wait, this is gonna be war. Nobody in combat sports history has taken a tougher fight in their third professional bout than I have. I will prove why I’m the chosen one.” In a chilling response, Perry added: “Be careful what you ask for”.
