Sean O’Malley has seen his hero, Conor McGregor, turn into his villain after a strange online exchange, and he is now hoping McGregor gets knocked out at UFC 303.
UFC bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley, has always made his admiration for Conor McGregor clear and has always attributed the Irishman for a lot of his own success.
Despite that, after a strange online exchange between ‘The Notorious’ and boxer Ryan Garcia – in which O’Malley was caught in the crossfire – the 29-year-old has decided he’s no longer supporting McGregor for his comeback on June 29th.

Sean O’Malley fires back at Conor McGregor after strange online exchange
This past weekend, the former simultaneous UFC champion called out Ryan Garcia after the boxer returned a positive drug test following his huge win over Devin Haney.
Garcia tested positive for the banned substance, Ostarine, the same substance ‘Suga’ tested positive for in both 2018 and 2019, but the United States Anti-Doping Agency ruled it to be from tainted supplements.
“I’m actually disgusted.” McGregor said about Garcia’s failed test, in a since-deleted tweet. “This Ostarine, it reminds me of Sean O’Malley (he) was on that as well.
“I don’t like this, I’ll bust yous both up. Do yous want a spar I will set flights right now for you both for a full-on spar each. Two little Ostarine heads I’ll ride you both like Ostritches.” McGregor added.
The UFC bantamweight champion has since responded, admitting he is ‘more sad than mad’ that his old hero has turned on him, pondering whether the ‘tweet rant’ came after recreational drug usage.
“F*** Conor man.” O’Malley said on the TimboSugarShow. “I saw a lot of people being like, ‘damn I bet Suga is sad, Suga always talks nothing but great about Conor’, he just went on a little tweet rant booger sugared up talking s***.
“I was more sad than mad. Now I just cannot wait to see Michael Chandler absolutely sleep him, I’m turning up, I’m changing up real quick, f*** Conor. When your idols turn rivals.” O’Malley added.
Sean O’Malley’s next title defense is still yet to be announced, and he has recently shut down Merab Dvalishvili’s claims that it is targeted for UFC 306, at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
Despite that, ‘Suga’ is aiming for that September 14th date to defend his 135lb title against the Georgian contender.
Conor McGregor predicts ‘$20m+’ gate for UFC 303 comeback fight
‘The Notorious’ highly anticipated comeback – which is finally official for UFC 303 on June 29th – will take place on International Fight Week.
The 35-year-old has predicted that he will once again break UFC records, anticipating that the live gate for UFC 303 will be ‘$20m+’.
Currently, the event that holds the record for the highest-ever gate is UFC 205 – McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez becoming double UFC champion – and that surpassed $17.5m.
McGregor’s UFC 303 fight against Michael Chandler will be contested at welterweight. The last time the Irishman weighed in at 170lbs was back in 2020 when he knocked out Donald Cerrone in round one.
‘Iron’ Michael Chandler, on the other hand, hasn’t fought at welterweight since his 2010 Strikeforce fight against Sal Woods.
A win for ‘The Notorious’ would undoubtedly see him jump to the front of the queue at welterweight and could set him up for a title fight, in which he could break another UFC record by becoming the first fighter to win a title in three separate weight classes.
