Merab Dvalishvili is getting impatient with UFC bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley, and has demanded the title fight is made ‘for my people’.
Since Sean O’Malley‘s recent title defense over Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera at UFC 299 in March, it has been clear that his next fight would be against Merab Dvalishvili.
‘The Machine’ has made himself undeniable inside and outside of the cage, becoming extremely popular amongst fans because of his expert marketing of himself on social media.
‘Suga’ Sean has made it clear that he doesn’t mind when he defends his title but has previously stated that he likes the idea of defending the title at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
‘Mexcian Merab’ posts hilarious new skit, digging O’Malley’s grave
Prior to Merab’s last fight – against Henry Cejudo at UFC 298 in February – the dominant bantamweight turned up to the UFC 298 press conference draped in a Mexican flag, stating that he would make the Mexican people proud after beating ‘Triple C’.

He did just that and was seemingly adopted by the Mexican fanbase.
In a hilarious new skit, the Georgian native was overseeing the digging of Sean O’Malley’s grave in a graveyard, with Henry Cejudo and Petr Yan tombstones visible in the background.
Speaking in Spanish to his Mexican friends, Merab said, “It’s good, but it needs to be bigger. That b****** is taller (than Cejudo and Yan).” Merab joked.
“Sean, I know you want to fight in September let’s make this fight happen for my people on Mexican Independence Day, let’s go.” Dvalishvili added.
The UFC’s inaugural event at the Sphere, in Las Vegas, is set to take place at UFC 306 on September 14th. It will also mark the second time the promotion has hosted an event on Mexican Independence Day, with the first being a main event rematch between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko.
Sean O’Malley and Alexandre Pantoja go back and forth
Despite O’Malley ultimately agreeing that Dvalishvili is next in line for the title shot, he has laid out a plan for after he ‘ko’s’ Merab.
“After I KO Merab, I’m boxing Ryan (Garcia).” O’Malley claimed on X.
Ryan Garcia isn’t the only one the 29-year-old is beefing with at the moment. UFC flyweight champion, Alexandre Pantoja – who takes on Steve Erceg in the UFC 301 main event this coming Saturday – claimed in an interview that he ‘smashed’ O’Malley in training, several years ago.
‘Suga’ has since responded on X saying that might make a ‘highlight reel’ of the sparring footage and post it, hinting that he got the better of the Brazilian champion.
