Paddy Pimblett pitches himself for role on The Ultimate Fighter and wants UFC 300 winner involved

Popular lightweight Paddy Pimblett has pitched an idea to coach an upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter against one of UFC 300’s big winners.

UFC 300 is now in the books, but that doesn’t mean that the incredible PPV won’t still dominate the headlines for the next several weeks with fighters reacting to both roof-raising performances and callouts from the event’s biggest victors.

Paddy Pimblett was called out in the second bout of UFC 300

In just the second fight of the night at UFC 300, Paddy Pimblett was called out by veteran lightweight Bobby ‘King’ Green following his unanimous decision victory over Jim Miller.

“Paddy how dare you, you slimy sugary snake, how dare you call my name. I’m coming after you. July I’m coming to your backyard in front of your people, to kick your ass,” Green said in his post-fight interview.

Yet ‘The Baddy’ was expecting to be called out again later in the card, and when that summons failed to arrive on the microphone – the fan-favorite Scouser had an idea in mind for how to land the biggest fight of his career to date, The Ultimate Fighter.

Paddy Pimblett pitches The Ultimate Fighter coaching role against Renato Moicano

Renato Moicano earned himself an outstanding comeback victory in Las Vegas as he recovered from a vicious knockdown in the opening round to finish Jalin Turner via ground-and-pound in the second.

Reacting to the UFC 300 card via his official YouTube channel, Paddy Pimblett was notably surprised when Moicano failed to mention his name in the post-fight interview:

“Renato, where was the callout, lad? I thought Moicano was going to mention me there but yeah props on the performance. That was a very, very good performance. Done well to survive the end of that first round and then come back out and finish him in the second, that was a quality performance by Moicano.”

Pimblett then threw out a rather interesting idea for how he could eventually get Moicano to the octagon – an idea that should it come together, would provide some unbelievably entertaining TV for fans:

“Congratulations, lad. Top ten for you. He is a funny guy – you never know, maybe me vs Moicano. That would be a very good season of The Ultimate Fighter.”

“You never know you could see that in the next few years,” teased Pimblett, with the next season (32) of The Ultimate Fighter set to begin its broadcast on June 4, 2024, with women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso coaching alongside rival Valentina Shevchenko.

“Moicano, Bobby Green; either of you getting your head punched in, [that’s] easy money.”

‘The Baddy’ could be sitting out for the UFC’s return to the UK

Whilst the idea of The Ultimate Fighter being coached by Paddy Pimblett and Renato Moicano would undoubtedly deliver great TV; fans of the outspoken Brit are also expecting him to return in just a few months’ time when the UFC returns to the UK.

At the post-fight press conference for UFC 300, Dana White confirmed that the promotion would be hosting an event in Manchester, England, but failed to reveal an official date for the return.

Interestingly, even before UFC 300, Pimblett had hinted that he could return against Moicano himself in Manchester, no matter whether the Brazilian had emerged victorious or not against Turner.

“I’m hearing little rumors of July in Manchester, PPV, think you might see your boy on there,” Pimblett said on his YouTube channel.

“Moicano can come running back to me for some publicity to try and get a fight and I’ll knock him out as well. If he wins or loses, I want to punch Moicano’s head in. He’s been talking all sorts of s****, he owes me money, he lost me money on a bet years ago the little fart.”

At the time of writing, Paddy Pimblett is unranked in the UFC lightweight division with Renato Moicano sitting in the #13 slot ahead of Tuesday’s rankings update.
