Conor McGregor trolled one of the most dangerous men on the planet in an hilarious new social media outburst.
Former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion McGregor has recently announced his return to the octagon after three years out of the cage, and is already starting fights across divisions. He will face Michael Chandler at UFC 303, moving up to welterweight after winning gold at two weights previously.
The Irishman has been pushing for a comeback to the cage since suffering a brutal leg injury at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier in a trilogy fight. But he has been kept out for varying reasons until it was announced at UFC 300 on Saturday night that he would return later in the summer.
Conor McGregor takes aim at Michael Chandler before moving on to ‘Mr Potatohead’
Ex-Bellator champion Chandler has been at loggerheads with McGregor since they coached opposite one another on The Ultimate Fighter last summer. Despite the American winning all but one of their first round matchups, McGregor managed to land one of the two trophies on offer when teammate Brad Katona switched sides and went on to win the bantamweight bracket.
McGregor even got physical with Chandler during an heated face-off when the pair got into the cage after one fight. The Irishman had just watched his long-time friend Lee Hammond lose his fight on the show against eventual lightweight tournament winner Kurt Holobaugh, and couldn’t hold back his emotions towards his rival.

In his first social media post after the fight was officially announced following UFC 300, McGregor reposted a clip of him pushing Chandler, as well as another of him celebrating his sole win on the show. He then mocked his rival in a voice note.
Conor McGregor mocks interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall in X (Twitter) outburst
Amongst his tweets aimed at Chandler, McGregor reignited his strange feud with interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall. He mocked the British fighter for looking like “Mr Potatohead” in a tweet commenting on a photo of him looking on after rival Alex Pereira retained his light-heavyweight title at UFC 300.
The feud between McGregor and Aspinall started last year when the Salford fighter declared that he was not interested in the Irishman’s cage comeback. This was met with vitriol from McGregor, who took to Twitter with an expletive-laden post that was quickly deleted.
He wrote: “Mush head rat keep your comments to yourself. Bum p****. Say sayonara to that [Gym King] deal kid. Starve you and kill you I will you f****** disrespectful p****. Don’t ever speak my name in disrespect again. Mush potato head.”
Tom Aspinall unfazed by Conor McGregor’s aggressive threats amid odd feud
Aspinall has not yet replied to McGregor’s latest jab, but has previously said that he found the Irishman’s aggressive messages to be “weird”. He told The True Geordie last year: “A little bit weird because I don’t really know Conor at all.
“So my friend started a YouTube channel… he came down the gym and interviewed me. It’s not like a big channel, and he asked me about McGregor: ‘are you looking forward to McGregor’s next fight’?
“And I said, ‘oh, to be honest, I’m not really that interested in Conor McGregor. I only really watch the heavyweights and bigger guys, I’m not as interested in the smaller. I meant it like that.”
