Jiri Prochazka earned a stunning comeback knockout last night at UFC 300 and after calling out Alex Pereira, followed up with an ominous message to the champ.
Whilst much of the conversation post-UFC 300 will undoubtedly be dominated by Alex Pereira and Max Holloway, former king of the 205lb division Jiri Prochazka also made an enormous statement as he proved once again that even if he’s battered and bruised, you should never count ‘BJP’ out of a fight.

Jiri Prochazka earns stunning comeback KO win at UFC 300
Former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka was one of the lucky athletes to earn an additional $300,000 in post-fight bonus money thanks to a sensational knockout over fellow European juggernaut Aleksandar Rakic last night in Las Vegas.
After weathering an early storm and having his base taken away with some vicious leg kicks, ‘BJP’ rallied in typical Samurai fashion to knock Rakic down in the second round before swarming the Serb with brutal ground-and-pound shots to earn his 26th KO/TKO of his professional MMA career.
Jiri Prochazka sends champion Alex Pereira an ominous warning
During his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Prochazka called out the winner of the main event between Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill – a bout which was ultimately won by the Brazilian by way of first-round knockout.
“I want to face the champion tonight – not tonight but next time; let the better man win tonight, it doesn’t matter who [wins].”
After leaving the T-Mobile Arena, the former light heavyweight champion spoke via The Schmo YouTube channel and sent an ominous warning to ‘Poatan’, claiming that he’s now going to take the matchup seriously:
“I saw him [Pereira] and I saw his performance, [it was] amazing and I have to say that now I’m starting to take it seriously. Because this is for me, something that I want to do, I want to achieve this victory and when I want something, I will achieve that.”
‘BJP’ said that he has “some little upgrades” to work on in the meantime, such as his striking defense, as he aims to “make the perfect storm,” for the Brazilian power puncher.
“Alex knows that; he knew that in New York in his hometown, [and] he understands that I have the keys to win that fight.”
‘BJP’ explains why he went to the T-Mobile Arena in the middle of the night
The night before UFC 300, Jiri Prochazka was spotted by fans standing alone and outside of the T-Mobile Arena late into the evening, staring at the event banner in seeming meditation.
Speaking at the post-fight press conference, Prochazka explained the situation he found himself in less than 24 hours away from his UFC 300 preliminary bout: “Yeah, that was me [in the video], that’s my rituals before I’m doing before every fight.”
“When you are peaceful in yourself, and when you really connect yourself to the best version of yourself, when you know what will come, what is before you, the world names that the ‘Law of Attraction’ so you have to follow your vision in an honest way…That’s my kind of meditation.”
Prochazka chucked to himself as he noted that “I’m not a psycho”, before also acknowledging that “there is a time where everybody wants to be along with our own things.”
With the impressive second-round knockout victory, Jiri Prochazka improves his professional MMA record to 30-4-1.
