Kayla Harrison won her highly anticipated UFC debut on Saturday at UFC 300, and her second-round finish over Holly Holm resulted in Amanda Nunes sharing her opinion.
Kayla Harrison‘s UFC debut couldn’t have gone any better, as she utterly dominated former women’s bantamweight champion, Holly Holm, securing the rear naked choke in round two.
The first battle for the 33-year-old was on the scales on Friday morning, with this being her first fight scheduled for 135lbs. During her PFL tenure, the two-time Olympic Gold medalist fought at 155lbs, with her decision to accept a bantamweight fight being one that was heavily questioned.
Despite that, she weighed in at 136lbs with no issues.
Kayla Harrison outlines plan for the rest of the year
Following her utterly dominant display over Holm, Harrison called for a bantamweight title shot.
Prior to Harrison’s fight, current women’s bantamweight champion, Raquel Pennington stated that it wouldn’t be ‘fair’ for her to secure a title shot with just one win, just because of her credentials coming into the UFC.

Despite that, a dominant win over a former champion in a division that lacks contenders will likely get her one.
In her Octagon interview, the 33-year-old admitted that she doesn’t care whether her next fight is against Pennington or Julianna Pena, as long as it’s for undisputed gold.
“I want my title next, that’s what I came over here for, one thing and one thing only. I don’t care if it’s Raquel (Pennington), I don’t care if it’s Julianna (Pena), by the end of the year, I will be UFC champion.” Harrison said.

Kayla Harrison versus Amanda Nunes is a fight that has been desired by the fans for years, but following Nunes’ retirement last year, it seemed to be just a pipe dream.
Despite that, the ‘Lioness’ took to social media on Saturday following Harrison’s debut win, hinting that she thought the 33-year-old was going to call her out. Although she officially retired following her win over Irene Aldana, the Brazilian was seemingly frustrated that her name wasn’t called by Harrison.
The former double champ also tweeted a graphic that stated she is the greatest female fighter of all time – which is not disputed.
