Former welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns has outlined the UFC 300 fights he is most looking forward to, as he predicts a ‘crazy comeback’ will happen in the lightweight title contender fight.
As UFC 300 fight night closes in, the anticipation continues to build, with most of the MMA fanbase labeling this event as the greatest card of all time.
12 current or former champions compete on the blockbuster event, with that being the most on a single event, ever. The event also includes the most ranked fighters on a card ever.
With that, several fights may be going under the radar, one of which is Diego Lopes versus Sodiq Yusuff in the featherweight division.
Gilbert Burns shines the spotlight on Diego Lopes vs Sodiq Yusuff
Former welterweight title contender, Gilbert Burns, has that one firmly on his radar though, as he has listed it as one of the three fights he’s most excited for.
“Sodiq Yusuff against Diego Lopes, I think that’s one I’m looking forward to so much.” Burns told the Schmo. “I like both guys, Diego is crazy, he’s looking very good but Sodiq’s going to be a really tough test, that’s my number one fight.”
Sodiq Yusuff headlined for the first time in his UFC tenure last time out when he took on Edson Barboza in the main event of a UFC Fight Night at the Apex. Unfortunately for ‘Super’ Sodiq, he was on the wrong end of a decision, suffering only his second UFC loss.
The Brazilian Diego Lopes on the other hand has rapidly become a fan favorite in the featherweight division, since his late-notice debut against Movsar Evloev back at UFC 288 in May last year.
Despite losing that fight narrowly, the 29-year-old showcased his wild and exciting style, which saw him go on to win his following two fights by first-round finishes.
Burns predicts Charles Oliveira will win a ‘crazy comeback’ against Arman Tsarukyan
Charles Oliveira has become notorious for having to come back from adversity in fights, with his wins against Michael Chandler, Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje being prime examples.

In each of those fights, ‘Do Bronx’ was knocked down early on, and rallied from behind to score finishes in each three. ‘Durinho’ sees his UFC 300 fight with Arman Tsarukyan being a similar story.
“I’ve got Charles (to win) but I think he’s going to get hurt in the beginning and it’s going to be one of those crazy comebacks. Arman Tsarukyan is a tough dude, he has crazy wrestling, good striking and he’s super strong, it’s going to be a test for Charles, it’s not going to be easy.
“The way I see it is it’s going to be like the Justin Gaethje, the Dustin Poirier, the Michael Chandler fights, where Charles gets hit in the beginning and suffers in the first round. Not an easy fight and a rough first round but that crazy comeback that he always does, that’s what I think is going to happen.” Burns added.
If the 34-year-old can score back-to-back wins, he will likely cement himself as the next lightweight contender to take on Islam Makhachev, as the Russian champion awaits the details of his next title defense.
