Nate Landwehr stole the show at UFC Atlantic City and now several days removed, has thrown out five names for who his next potential opponent could be.
After dispatching Jamall Emmers in now-traditional comeback fashion, Nate Landwehr has offered his thoughts on who could be next for ‘The Train’ and it must be said, all five are right on the money.

Nate Landwehr stole the show at UFC Atlantic City
Whilst the headlines might have been dominated by Manon Fiorot and Joaquin Buckley, UFC Atlantic City was undoubtedly the Nate ‘The Train’ Landwehr show.
After being dropped in the opening exchanges, a staple of almost any fight that he competes in, Landwehr fought through two severe cuts on his head to deliver a vicious KO to Jamall Emmers – and sending the New Jersey crowd into uproar.
Acknowledging yet another comeback victory in his post-fight interview, Landwehr noted that all other fighters need to do is to “whoop my a** and see what happens” – but what’s the next stop for ‘The Train’ moving forward?
Nate Landwehr names five potential next opponents
Whilst Landwehr didn’t call anyone out by name after his UFC Atlantic City victory, in partial thanks to concern that the two cuts could require extended medical leave, it’s obvious that ‘The Train’ is down to fight anyone in the UFC octagon:
“I didn’t [call anyone out because] it’s just one of those things that I got this big a** cut on my head, I’m just trying to see how the division plays out man and I don’t know how long it’s going to take me to get back,” he told Michael Bisping and Anthony Smith via Bisping’s YouTube channel.
Yet the fan-favorite brawler did throw out several names for his next potential opponents, and it’s hard to argue that any of these matchups would deliver fantastic fights for the fans: Billy Quarantillo, Dan Ige, Nathaniel Wood, Julian Erosa, and Alex Caceres.
“You know who I always wanted to fight, we came in UFC right at the same time as Billy Q, he just took that L but man he’s still a gangster,” said Landwehr.
“I mean there’s a bunch of there’s a bunch of good fighters; you got Nathaniel Woods – that’s good. Of course, you got Dan Ige, [and] I wouldn’t mind having that Julian Erosa [fight back] – [Alex] Caceres, I wouldn’t mind fighting Caceres because we were supposed to fight [before].”
Julian Erosa defeated Landwehr via first-round KO in 2021, whilst Alex Caceres was forced to withdraw from their scheduled clash in 2023 and was replaced by Austin Lingo – Landwehr won that contest via submission.
“I mean there’s so many possibilities [but] it’s whatever the UFC want, if they want me to go against a banger, they want me to prove myself [against someone in the] top 15, I’m down – they already know I’m down.”
All five potential opponents would ‘make sense’ for Landwehr
Whilst calling out multiple fighters at once is certainly a surefire way to get the attention of at least one potential opponent, it’s hard to argue that Landwehr didn’t hit the nail right on the head with these five names.
At the time of writing, only one of those five names has a fight booked, and just two are riding winning streaks:
- Billy Quarantillo – No fight booked, lost in March 2024 to Youssef Zalal
- Nathaniel Wood – No fight booked, lost in October 2023 to Muhammad Naimov
- Dan Ige – No fight booked, won in February 2024 over Andre Fili
- Julian Erosa – No Fight booked, won in March 2024 over Ricardo Ramos
- Alex Caceres – Booked against Sean Woodson for May 2024, lost in August 2023 to Giga Chikadze
Which of these five fighters do you think should be next for Nate Landwehr, following his comeback KO victory last weekend at UFC Atlantic City?
