Brendan Allen takes on late replacement Chris Curtis in the main event of UFC Vegas 90 this weekend, in a rematch of their first meeting in 2021.
Brendan Allen has been labeled as a dark horse in the middleweight division by many, as he rides a six-fight win streak going into his second UFC main event in a row.
The 28-year-old’s last win came against Paul Craig back in November, where he picked up his fourth rear-naked-choke win in a row.
He will face the man he last lost to, Chris Curtis, who will be looking to score back-to-back victories for the first time since 2022. This will mark ‘Action Man’s’ first UFC main event during his eight-fight UFC tenure.
Originally Allen was scheduled to fight Marvin Vettori in a fight that would’ve put him right near the top of the division had he won, but the Italian withdrew from the fight.

The middleweight title picture and rumored fights
The middleweight title picture is undoubtedly hotting up with another big fight having been announced late last week.
Robert Whittaker will take on Khamzat Chimaev in the main event of the promotions first event in Saudi Arabia, with that fight determining the number one contender in the division.

Middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis recently teased on his Instagram that a title defense against Israel Adesanya will take place at UFC 305 in Perth, Australia.
Someone who isn’t very happy with that fight being a likely possibility, is Sean Strickland. The former middleweight champion took to X recently stating that ‘the UFC fans’ want him and Du Plessis to fight in a rematch.
Replying to a fans’ comment, Strickland admitted that if his next fight isn’t for a title, then he isn’t ‘climbing that f****** ladder again’ and threatened to take his skills to boxing. However, Brendan Allen has had something to say about that.
Brendan Allen wants Strickland rematch if victorious against Chris Curtis
Talking in an interview with The Schmo, the 28-year-old admitted that with a win over Chris Curtis, he hopes he can get a fight with Sean Strickland, so he can avenge his loss to him four years ago.
“You never know with the way the division landscape is, it’s hard to tell but hopefully I can get Sean (Strickland) after this, he seems to be the last one available so if I can’t get the champion then Sean is hopefully what I’m after.” Allen said.
The 28-year-old also talked about the landscape of the middleweight division as a whole, hinting that the rumored UFC 305 fight between Du Plessis and Adesanya shouldn’t happen, as ‘The Last Stylebender’ is undeserved.
“It’s crazy right (middleweight title picture), that’s insane by itself. If (Du Plessis vs Adesanya) is in Perth Izzy can sell, he’s still a money maker. It’s all business with that, it’s not skill based. It’s hard to say you get a title shot coming off a loss.” Allen added.
