Jamahal Hill names the two fights he wants next should he defeat Alex Pereira at UFC 300

Jamahal Hill isn’t looking past his UFC 300 opponent, but ‘Sweat Dreams’ already has plans for what’s next, should he defeat Alex Pereira in Las Vegas.

The top of the UFC light heavyweight tree has been a mess for several years at this point, with former champion Jamahal Hill teasing that should he earn back the belt at UFC 300, his future title defenses need to ‘make sense’ for both him and the division he’ll reign over once again.

‘Sweet Dreams’ has a chance to regain his world title at UFC 300

Jamahal Hill technically never lost his UFC light heavyweight championship, instead vacating the belt due to injury before the converted gold-plated title eventually found its way into the hands of Alex Pereira.

After losing the middleweight belt to Israel Adesanya early in 2023, ‘Poatan’ bounced back with two consecutive wins over Jan Blachowicz and Jiri Prochazka, gaining his second divisional title in the process.

Heading into UFC 300, Hill is riding a four-fight winning streak which includes victories over Thiago Santos, Johnny Walker, and Jimmy Crute, as well as Pereira’s friend and coach Glover Teixeira.

Jamahal Hill on what fights ‘make sense’ next should he defeat Pereira

Defeating Alex Pereira is certainly no easy task and whilst Hill isn’t looking past his UFC 300 opponent, ‘Sweat Dreams’ has opened up on what the rest of 2024 could look like, should he shock the world at the T-Mobile Arena.

Speaking to UFC legend Michael Bisping on the latest episode of the Believe You Me podcast, Hill said that he’s only interested in the fights that ‘make sense’ for the division and had two names in mind: Jiri Prochazka and Magomed Ankalaev.

“I think if Jiri [Prochazka] goes out and he knocks [Aleksandar] Rakic out in an impressive fashion and has a good performance, that’s still a fight that I want, I still want that fight, but it’s got to make sense.”

Hill said that the ‘BJP’ would likely need to win by finish for him to earn another title shot, “Just because of how he lost that Alex [Pereira] fight, I don’t feel like he was given the respect of a champion to battle through adversity and get his belt back.”

“I feel like his value is still there and I feel like that fight is still a great fight.”

Hill also threw out the name of Magomed Ankalaev, who himself bounced back from a bitterly disappointing draw to Jan Blachowicz and no contest with Johnny Walker to KO the Brazilian back in January.

“Him [Jiri] or Magomed [Ankalaev], Magomed’s there, he’s waiting,” teased Hill.

Hill shares a ‘prediction’ skit of how UFC 300 will go down

Whilst Alex Pereira retains one of the largest and most passionate fanbases in the UFC, Jamahal Hill has been quickly gaining fans thanks to his social media posts and interactions since the UFC 300 main event was confirmed.

Earlier this week, Hill posted a comedy skit about ‘How people think the UFC 300 main event will go vs ‘How it’s really going to go’ – one of several online messages that Hill has shared in recent weeks as he fires back at Pereira and his fanbase.

Jamahal Hill vs Alex Pereira is the main event of UFC 300, scheduled to go down April 13 in Las Vegas.
