Thiago Moises calls out top 10 lightweight following extremely dominant UFC Vegas 88 win

This Saturday at UFC Vegas 88, Thiago Moises bounced back from his loss to Benoit Saint-Denis back in September, with a one-sided performance against late step-in, Mitch Ramirez.

The Brazilian was originally scheduled to take on Brad Riddell, but the New Zealander withdrew from the bout, leaving Moises without an opponent. Fortunately, Ramirez answered the call to make his UFC debut after coming up short on the Contender Series last year.

After a tough first few rounds for Ramirez in which he was almost submitted, Moises began consistently chopping at the leg of ‘The Fight Stalker’, slowing him down within the first few rounds.

Heading into round three, the 31-year-old was extremely limited with his movement, and just 15 seconds into round three the referee in charge, Mark Smith, stepped in after Ramirez dropped to the ground after eating another hellacious leg kick.

Thiago Moises calls for a fight with Dan Hooker

After his impressive bounce-back win on Saturday, the 28-year-old called for a fight with Brad Riddell’s teammate, Dan Hooker.

“I was supposed to fight Brad Riddell but he got his eyelash hurt” Moises told Michael Bisping in his Octagon interview.

“He couldn’t fight so thank you to Mitch for stepping in on short notice and taking this fight. This was disrespectful to me you know, fighting on the second fight of the card, I’m a main event fighter.

“So Dan Hooker let’s get it brother nobody from this gym (City Kickboxing) you and Riddell don’t want to fight guys who can score takedowns so you guys should fight your wrestling coach if you don’t trust your wrestling. Just sign the contract and show up to fight, just me and you main event Fight Night.”

‘Hangman’ Hooker is coming off a fight of the year contender against Jalin Turner, in which he narrowly won the fight. After breaking his arm in that bout, he hasn’t fought since.

The 34-year-old currently occupies rank nine in the 155lb division, while Thiago Moises is currently not ranked.
