Kennedy Nzechukwu previews his upcoming UFC Fight Night clash against light heavyweight veteran Ovince St. Preux this weekend.
Nzechukwu says he learned a great deal from his first-round KO loss to Dustin Jacoby last August, and that this experience will help lead him to victory this weekend at UFC Vegas 88.
The ‘African Savage’ faces veteran Ovince St. Preux at the UFC Apex on Saturday and whilst he admitted to still feeling “uncomfortable” in the octagon, claimed that his gameplan moving forward is “all about having fun.”

Kennedy Nzechukwu previews UFC Fight Night clash vs OSP
Since making his promotional debut in 2019, Kennedy Nzechukwu has experienced an up-and-down tenure as a UFC fighter, earning victories over Carlos Ulberg, Devin Clark, and Ion Cutelaba, but falling short against the likes of Paul Craig, Da Un Jung, and Dustin Jacoby.
Now, the ‘African Savage’ finds himself at a crossroads in his career and in the crosshairs of an ever-dangerous veteran, fan-favorite Haitian, Ovince St. Preux.
“He’s a veteran, he’s been in there for the longest time, you can’t take him lightly,” he said of OSP at the UFC Vegas 88 media day.
“He has a bunch of tricks up his sleeve, and I just have to go there and implement my game plan, try to get him out of there…Right now in my career, I’m more well-rounded.”
Despite the 6-4 record as a UFC fighter, the 31-year-old prospect believes that disappointment in his past performances has now given him the experience needed to make another run at the Top 15 rankings:
“It definitely wasn’t my night [against Jacoby] but I learned a lot, I grabbed a whole bunch of experience from that fight, especially with octagon awareness and being able to live in the moment, in the present, and not worry about external factors that might contribute to my uncomfortable nature in there.”
Whilst Kennedy Nzechukwu admitted that the KO loss has “put more urgency on my career”, the attitude moving forward is “all about having fun.”
Should Nzechukwu earn himself a victory over OSP this weekend, the path ahead is a rather simple but effective one: “More experience, more fights.”
