The world’s premiere MMA league is headed to Singapore today (August 26th) for UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. The Korean Zombie, which is going down at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The marquee matchup for the night, or daytime rather for the folks in North America, will see the UFC’s former featherweight king, Max Holloway, mix it up with longtime fan fave, ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung. Get the coffee ready because there’s an extra early start time of 5:00 a.m. ET for this Singapore card.

It’s no secret that Zombie is in the twilight of his career, and his next fight just might be his last. I mean he will be relatively close to home, and is competing against one of the very best to ever do it at 145-pounds. Sounds like the stage has been set in Singapore for an epic TKZ swan song. Is Holloway going to win? Yeah probably. Max is still that dude right behind the current champ, Alexander Volkanovski, but Zombie is the personification of toughness, and this matchup almost promises to produce some magic.

The co-main event for this Singapore fight card will be a strange grudge rematch between Anthony Smith and Ryan Spann. Their first encounter occurred almost two years ago, with Smith securing a quick first-round rear-naked choke. After Smith got the tap, he proceeded to scream at Spann about respect, as Ryan was trying to show him respect. It seemed to be a classic case of misdirected hostility, but apparently the beef is still there. And here we are.

Whatever you do, make sure you tune in for the inevitable banger that is Giga Chikadze vs. Alex Caceres. We’ve got a world class former GLORY kickboxer in Giga taking on a longtime mma veteran in Alex, who is a savvy striker in his own right. There’s a chance that Caceres turns this into a grappling match and goes submission hunting, but I’d say there’s an even greater chance of these putting on quite the standup display.

What comes after UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. The Korean Zombie

The next event after UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. The Korean Zombie is UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Spivac, and that will go down at the Accor Arena in Paris, France. The headliner for this event will see former UFC interim heavyweight champion, Ciryl Gane, try and turn back surging contender, Serghei Spivac.
