Max Holloway KOs, retires Korean Zombie – UFC Fight Night: Singapore results, play-by-play

The UFC Fight Night Singapore card is live now! It’s time to see if Chan Sung Jung aka “The Korean Zombie” can defeat former featherweight champion and Number 1 contender Max “Blessed” Holloway. Both men are on record as having wanted this UFC fight for quite some time and now the promotion has finally granted their wish. We might be watching through our hands, but we’ll be right here watching.

Also on tonight’s card is a what is very likely a title eliminator bout between flyweight standouts Erin Blanchfield and Taila Santos. Blanchfield boasts an 11-1 record with her most recent UFC fight being a nasty rear-naked choke of Jessica Andrade. Santos has a 10-3 record with her last UFC fight being a closely contested fight with Valentina Shevchenko—a fight many thought she won.

Giga Chikadze will also be making his long-awaited return to action against the ever-evolving veteran, Alex Caceres. Chikadze has been out of action since January of 2022 when he lost a unanimous decision to Calvin Kattar in an exciting bout that won UFC Fight of the Night honors. Caceres is on a two-fight win streak with his most recent win being a unanimous decision over Daniel Pineda—also a contest that won UFC Fight of the Night honors.

It’s not overly loaded but it’s certainly not the watered down fodder we mostly get from the dreaded UFC Apex cards either. If not for the ungodly hour, it would be a great UFC fight card. But regardless of the hour, we’ll be here watching so you won’t have to. That’s how much we love you!

Max Holloway vs. The Korean Zombie play-by-play

Round 1

Holloway dodges a low kick from Zombie then returns with a left jab. Low kick lands for Holloway. Low kick lands for Zombie, then they clinch briefly where Zombie lands a quick right. Left-right combo lands for Zombie. Holloway returns fire to the breadbasket. Another shot for Holloway to the body. Left straight lands for Holloway. Zombie returns fire over the top. Left hook for Max lands.

Feint down low then a left up top for Max. Holloway lands a quick right to the body. Max up top with a quick two-punch combo. Quick left lands for Zombie. Right high kick for Max. Zombie shoots for a double but gets stuffed. Right up top lands for Zombie. A left hook lands for Zombie. Nice combo for Zombie to end the round.

Round 2

Left hook lands for Zombie. Combo lands for Max and takes Zombie’s legs out. Max follows him down and locks up a choke but Zombie escapes. Zombie has one of Max’s knees trying to get the takedown. Stuffed. Double left from Zombie, then an uppercut., Max returns with an uppercut. Left hook lands for Zombie, then another.

Max lands a right to the body. Nice combo for the Zombie answered by one from Max. High kick from Max lands to the side of Zombie’s head. Low kick from Zombie followed by a double jab. Body shot from Max. Left straight from Zombie. Double jab from Zombie. High kick to the body from Max. Kick to the midsection from Max. Right hook from Zombie and the bell sounds.

Round 3

Big combo from Zombie lands. They are going for broke. Max lands a huge right that puts Zombie down like a ton of bricks. Goddard waves it off. Max Holloway wins!
