Saturday night in London, Robert Helenius stepped in on very short notice looking to try and score a monumental upset against Anthony Joshua. Helenius saved the event and probably earned a good payday, but unfortunately for him, the fight just went as predicted.

Helenius was game despite coming in without proper training, but Joshua still won majority of the exchanges, and slowly took over as the boxing match went on. On the seventh round, Joshua landed a bomb of a right hand that brutally put Helenius out cold.
This marks Heleniusβ second brutal KO loss in a year, with him losing badly to Deontay Wilder in 2022. For Joshua, it marked his second straight win β and his first KO β after dropping two decisions to Oleksandr Usyk.
Speaking immediately after the fight, Joshua said he wants to keep active this year. His promoter might have different plans though.
After Joshua’s post-fight interview, promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that Deontay Wilder is likely next for him. Royalty from the Middle East attended the match up ringside and Hearn says they will be looking to try and finalize the big money match up in the next few days, with a target date likely for January.
