YouTube influencer turned WWE star will box MMA fighter
Logan Paul announced on Instagram today that he is signed to box ex-Bellator MMA fighter Dillon Danis on the undercard of October’s KSI vs Tommy Fury card.
Paul posted, “OCTOBER 14 I return to boxing after fighting Floyd Mayweather over 2 years ago. I doubt this little parasite will show up but if he does I’m going to erase him from existence. The PRIME Card — Oct 14 in Manchester, live on DAZN PPV!”
Logan Paul hasn’t boxed since exhibition against Floyd Mayweather in 2021
Paul has been busy doing the sports entertainment thing with the WWE, playing a big part on last Saturday’s SummerSlam PPV card. He did manage to make it down to Dallas for a brief appearance (and possible scuffle) ringside at big brother Jake’s boxing match against Nate Diaz.
Logan last boxed against Floyd Mayweather in 2021. The most interesting thing about that bout was allegations that Paul got stiffed on his payout.
Dillon Danis dropped out of KSI bout
For his part, Conor McGregor associate and Bellator MMA veteran Dillon Danis was last heard from signing to face celebrity boxer KSI in January but he pulled out of that bout.
Bellator boss Scott Coker has also struggled to book Danis as he said on The MMA Hour last year:
“He’s reached out to me and said, ‘Hey, I want to fight.’ So we’re going to try and get him in the rotation, but it’s been a long time. It’s been a long time since he fought, so I hope he’s been training and I hope he’s been doing his thing, but at the end of the day it’s really going to be up to him and how bad he wants to fight and does he really want to compete at this level. It’s going to be something that only he can answer.”
“We have a contract with the guy, and we’re going to honor the contract,” Coker added. “But like I said, it’s going to be ‘Do you want to really fight?’ That’s really the question here, to be honest. That’s the question.”
