Euphoria star Javon Walton signs with Jake Paul’s promotion

As both parties recently announced, Javon Walton has signed a deal with Jake Paul’s boxing arm, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP).

“I’ve been training so hard and working for the majority of my life for this moment,” Walton said in the announcement. “MVP feels like family, and that’s very important to me. I know they can help me reach my goals in professional boxing and do it in a way that feels special to me.”

Walton, 17, becomes the youngest signee of the boxing promotion headed by Jake Paul and former UFC CFO Nakisa Bidarian. He is said to have more than 80 amateur boxing bouts already, and is a multiple time Georgia state boxing champion.

In November 2022, he also became the youngest athlete to sign a sponsorship deal with Jordan brand.

Walton will be looking to finish up his amateur career, with plans to make his professional debut in 2024. He will be officially introduced by MVP during the lead up to Jake Paul’s upcoming bout with Nate Diaz.

Is Javon Walton good at boxing?

Walton is known for his roles in hit series like Euphoria and The Umbrella Academy. He is a celebrity looking to become a pro boxer, but shouldn’t be confused for the type of talent we normally see in the recent celebrity boxing craze.

He seems to be really serious about his craft and actually has several years of extensive training and fight experience even at a young age. He is still a teenager and obviously has a lot to improve on to succeed as a pro, but Walton’s speed, technique and fundamentals are already very sharp.

Walton is a southpaw, and also has a background in gymnastics.

Watch some of his training footage and fights below, including one from the Silver Gloves regional championship in Georgia.
