UFC Fight Night: Josh Emmett vs. Ilia Topuria, also known as UFC on ABC 5, takes place this Saturday (June 24th) from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Top ranked featherweights will rock the main event when the UFC’s #5 rated, Josh Emmett, gets it in with the #9 rated, Ilia Topuria. Bloody Elbow is here to provide you with the betting odds.
The bookies are not concerned with the UFC rankings here, and heavily favor Topuria to get the best of Emmett. Ilia is currently listed with a stiff favored line -350, with $100 gamble on him only seeing a total profit of $28.57. That’s not exactly the biggest come up of all-time. On the other hand, you have Josh posted up with a beefy underdog value of +260. Risking $100 at those odds stands to see a total return of $360, if successful.

Proposition bets
The oddsmakers seem fairly confident that the judges will not be necessary to determine a winner here. The prop bet ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ is situated with a hefty favored line of -549, with a +350 comeback on the ‘Fight goes to decision’ option. The over/under for this UFC fight night main event has been set at 2.5 rounds. The ‘Under 2½ rounds’ is actually favored with a -225 moneyline, with the ‘Over 2½ rounds’ prop bet trending at +163.
Who wins the UFC fight night main event?
I bet mostly everyone is picking Topuria to remain undefeated, but hear me out. Aside from Max Holloway, who has the next best hands in the UFC’s heavyweight division? A strong argument could be made for Josh Emmett, who has already proven himself among his fellow contenders. He also has a wrestling base, but he chooses to stand, so it’s hard for me to see anyone at 145-pounds having an easy time getting him down. If you think that Topuria is going to run right through Emmett to the point of laying the chalk, then you might have another thing coming.
Just two-fights ago for Topuria, he viciously slept Jai Herbert. But if you remember correctly, not only did he lose that first round, but he almost got knocked out, too. Ilia loves to punch his way into the pocket, and is often open for extended exchanges there. That’s exactly where Emmett wants to be, too, so we might just end up getting repeated car crashes on the feet. The odds are much wider than I think they should be, which makes Emmett a live dog at +260, in my opinion. In fact, I’m picking Josh to upset here.
