Kai Kara-France faces Amir Albazi at this weekend's UFC Fight Night card | IMAGO/USA TODAY Network

UFC Fight Night: Kara-France vs. Albazi is going down this Saturday (June 3rd) from the lame af APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Despite the bland setting, the top of the billing will enjoy the UFC’s #3 ranked 125-pounder, Kai Kara-France, battling it out with the #7 ranked, Amir Albazi. Bloody Elbow is here to provide the betting lines, and a few prop bets for this one.

Popular online gambling site, FanDuel, had Albazi opening up as the betting favorite with a moneyline of -125, while Kara-France started out his betting life in the underdog slot with a barely juiced line of -102. Since these odds first dropped around the middle of May, Kai has shifted into the favored role, and Albazi switched over to the underdog position. Now, Kara-France is rocking a -115 line, with Amir right behind him at -111. Talk about a pick’em fight! Albazi is on a mean streak, but we’ve yet to see him pitted against the upper echelon of the division. Kara-France on the other hand, has already proven his worth at the elite level.

The oddsmakers are not convinced that this main event is going to last up until the final bell. The prop bet ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ is on deck with a favored tick of -135, with a +105 comeback on the ‘Fight goes to decision’ option. Four out of Kai’s last five fights ended in less than three rounds, and four out of Amir’s last five fights ended in less than three rounds. What a coinkidink! It’s really hard for me to see this one going the distance, even if it is a flyweight UFC fight.

The bookies have the less tested Amir labeled as the combatant most likely to sniff out a finish. The proposition ‘Albazi wins inside distance’ can be had for a somewhat small plus line of +170, while the odds for ‘Kara-France wins inside distance’ is almost double the value at +300. I mean, Kara-France has 10 losses on his record, and three of them were due to subs, while three others were KO’s. To be fair, the bulk of those losses were pre-UFC, so Kai really isn’t quite as killable as the stats would suggest.
