Tonight, two of the best gi-BJJ athletes will meet for a heavyweight match on the Who’s Number One stage alongside a slew of generational talent in Oklahoma City, OK. Nicholas Meregali will take on Gracie Barra’s Pedro Marinho in a 15-minute bout in the main event, flanked by legendary BJJ/MMA fighter Rafael Lovato Jr. and Elder Cruz in nogi for the co-main.
Meregali currently holds a 4-0 record in the promotion, last defeating Lovato Jr. in a nogi match last summer. Marinho took home the WNO nogi light heavyweight championship last year beating B-Team’s Craig Jones, and took silver at the 2021 IBJJF Pans in the gi. Though he’s since focused mainly on nogi, Marinho brings an excellent toolkit against his dangerous opponent.
Rounding out the card are talented grapplers like Daisy Fresh’s Jacob Couch, fresh off his gold medal win at the Chicago IBJJF Open, former IBJJF Pans champ Amanda “Tubby” Alequin, and the always-game 2022 ADCC Trials champ William Tackett.
