Cakey was the aggressor right away, not afraid to let her hands go. She was tagging Tennessee with punches in bunches, and they weren’t the most powerful things, but they were overwhelming. As the round went on, Tennessee started to connect with some heavy counters that backed off Cakey.
The second round is when Tennessee really came alive. She was snapping back the head of Cakey with stiff counters. This round was much better for Tennessee, but Cakey wasn’t out of it. Towards the end of the round, she started to fire back with some hard hands of her own.
The brawl continued on into the third, with both fighters letting their hands go. Tennessee was getting the better of the exchanges, with Cakey often retreating from the pocket. Once again towards the end of the round, Cakey started to rally. She was backing up Tennessee and punched her way back into the fight. Cakey def. Tennessee by unanimous decision (30-27 x2, 29-28): 122-pounds
