Gilbert Burns out indefinitely pending clearance after UFC 288

The New Jersey Athletic Control Board released medical suspensions for 14 fighters, including Burns, who was suspended indefinitely after the most recent UFC pay-per-view event. According to UFC president Dana White, ‘Durinho’ suffered a tear in his shoulder during one of his first takedown attempts against Muhammad. ‘Remember the Name’ went on to defeat Burns via unanimous decision.

Burns provided an update on his shoulder injury, revealing that he was ‘checking’ it and ‘hoping for no surgery’. To return, the Brazilian needs clearance. Prior to this loss, the Brazilian was on a two-fight win streak that included Neil Magny and Jorge Masvidal.

Also suspended indefinitely was Khaos Williams and Joseph Holmes for the potential injuries they suffered in their respective fights against Rolando Bedoya and Claudio Ribeiro
