Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) has released a slow-motion video of Luke Rockhold getting his teeth shattered by Mike Perry at BKFC 41 this past Saturday. The fight came to a semi-anticlimactic end after Rockhold motioned to referee Dan Miragliotta that he could not continue. The reason? Perry did some serious damage to his teeth after hitting the ex-UFC champion with a hard right hand.

Though photos showed Rockhold with a still intact tooth in the immediate aftermath of his fight with Perry, the 38-year-old shared a grisly update of his injuries. Not only did he have several stitches to sew up the gruesome gash on his lip, but he also had a piece of that tooth missing.
“Well, f—k. What can I say? You can check Bare Knuckle off the list,” said Rockhold. “Some crazy s—t. Those little knuckles got me, square on the front two [teeth]. Maybe a beard, maybe a better mouthpiece. It was a good fight.”
Despite his injuries, Rockhold said he would continue to fight, but with some gloves in his next appearance.
Mike Perry was also injured
As for Perry, he, too, suffered an injury. During an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, ‘Platinum’ showed off his knuckles, which were damaged by Rockhold, or rather, his teeth.
“I felt that in my fist, his teeth went into it, for sure,” said Perry. “I was just like, ‘Whatever that was, I can’t wait to land that again and feel that again. I want to feel that in my knuckles again.’ Whatever that was that I just hit him with.
“After I hit him with it, he was defensive for about 30 more seconds there, moving around, sticking, trying to move, and he was not trying to get hit with that again,” continued Perry. “And then once we broke from that clinch, he was like, ‘Dude, I can’t even bite down on this mouthpiece,’ like his teeth were all inside.”
With the win against Rockhold, Perry improved to 3-0 in BKFC, but his time with the bare-knuckle boxing promotion has come to an end — for now. During his post-fight press conference, the 31-year-old revealed he was a free agent.
“I’m up in the air because that was my last fight on contract,” said Perry. “I’m free from everybody, but I love bare-knuckle boxing. I do love it. I love [BKFC president] David Feldman, and the bare knuckle crew, and the team and the fans, and everybody that’s been showing so much support. They love this bloody stuff, too.”
