Max Holloway has made some moves up the UFC rankings following his main event victory last weekend. “Blessed” is now up to 13th place in the men’s pound-for-pound rankings, breezing past UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jamahal Hill and former middleweight titleholder Robert Whittaker.

Holloway’s move up the rankings comes following his five-round unanimous decision win over Arnold Allen from last weekend in Kansas City, Missouri. Holloway used his striking to win on scorecards, taking four of the five rounds of the fight on two of the three scorecards.

Max Holloway up to 13th on p4p list

The victory this past weekend marked Holloway’s first win since losing to UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski for the third time last year. Holloway is just one of seven non-champions on the pound-for-pound list, with the others being Robert Whittaker, Dustin Poirier, Jiri Prochazka, Alex Pereira, Charles Oliveira, and Kamaru Usman.

Holloway’s ranking in the featherweight division didn’t move this week. However, he’s practically already as high as he can get. At second in the division, the only people above him are incumbent champion Volkanovski and interim titleholder Yair Rodriguez.

Murzakanov leaps up light heavyweight ranks

Undefeated light heavyweight Azamat Murzakanov was given a big move in the UFC rankings this week after picking up a win over the weekend.

Murzakanov picked up his third UFC victory, defeating Dustin Jacoby via unanimous decision. This win bumped Murzakanov up to 11th place in the division, surpassing Dominick Reyes, Jimmy Crute, Khalil Rountree, and Jacoby.

Jacoby, who took his second consecutive loss over the weekend, dropped two spots in the rankings and now sits 15th.

Upcoming moves to watch

This weekend’s UFC card includes one notable matchup with ranked fighters. Third-ranked heavyweight Sergei Pavlovich will attempt to keep his high-up stop in the division when he meets fourth-place Curtis Blaydes in a five-round main event bout.

Ranked bantamweights Karol Rosa and Norma Dumont are also expected to appear on the card, although they are competing up at featherweight.
