Rising featherweight Arnold Allen will get his biggest test thus far on Saturday, taking on former champion Max Holloway in a five-round main event at UFC Fight Night Holloway vs Allen.
Their fight is scheduled to headline UFC’s first card in Kansas City, Missouri, since 2017. Also part of the lineup are notable talents like Edson Barboza, Pedro Munhoz, and Clay Guida—along with a ranked flyweight bout between Brandon Royval and Matheus Nicolau.
Can Holloway stop Allen’s rise?
Allen has racked up an impressive 10 wins since joining the UFC roster in 2015. He had his first-ever main event appearance last fall, although it was a bout that unceremoniously came to an end due to opponent Calvin Kattar suffering a knee injury in the second round.
Allen has worked his way up the featherweight ranks and currently sits fourth in the division. He has wins over names like Dan Hooker and Sodiq Yusuff. However, he has yet to beat a former champion—something he has the chance to do this weekend.
Holloway will be appearing for the first time since he lost a title shot against Alexander Volkanovski in July 2022. A win this weekend could get him back on track and stop the momentum of a rising contender in the division.
UFC Fight Night Holloway vs Allen weigh-in results
A lengthy 14-fight card is set for this weekend, meaning it will be a busy morning on the scales in Kansas City. Starting at 10 a.m. ET, a total of 28 fighters will have two hours to make their contracted weight.
