It’s fight day for UFC 287, which is kicking off from the Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, Florida. We’ve got a middleweight title rematch set for the main event when the champion, Alex Pereira, squares off with the man he took the belt from, Israel Adesanya. Before we get to watch these two warriors share a combat sports setting for the FOURTH time, let’s go and see how the betting lines are shaping up.

As of our UFC 287 midweek odds post, we discovered that Adesanya was entering into this MMA rematch being favored over his nemesis, Pereira. Since the weigh-ins, we’ve seen a sizable amount of coin come in on Adesanya, shifting his moneyline from -135 to a deeper favored position of -155.

Naturally, that pushes the champion’s moneyline a bit further into underdog territory. Despite holding three combat sports victories over Izzy, Pereira is posted up with a dog tag of +135. How the Adesanya vs. Pereira 2 line is anything other than even money is beyond me. It’s hard to not view ‘Poatan’ as a live dog at really any plus line here.

Close but no cigar has been has been Adesanya’s theme for his saga with Pereira. He’s 0-3 against the Brazilian, but everyone can see that Israel does have the tools to get it done. He’s been as close as close can get, but just hasn’t been able to seal the deal. Could the fourth time be the charm? On paper, that looks like a silly question, but in reality, the odds favor Izzy to move the series to 1-3.
