Anthony Joshua def. Jermaine Franklin by decision results, & highlights

Former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua returns to action today, taking on the 21-1 Jermaine Franklin, live on DAZN at the O² Arena in London, England. The bout will mark the first return to competition for the British boxing star since a pair of defeats at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 & 2022.

The now-33-year-old Joshua first rose to prominence back in 2012, capturing an Olympic gold medal for England at the London games. He went pro shortly afterwards, racking up a shiny 22-0 unbeaten record that included victories over the likes of Wladimir Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin along the way to his first unified set of heavyweight titles. Currently 24-3 following setbacks to Andy Ruiz and the aforementioned Usyk, Anthony Joshua will be looking to get his name back into the top-contender’s picture with a victory over Franklin on Saturday.

After a strong regional career fighting in smaller US boxing shows, Jermaine Franklin took his first big step up in competition in November of last year, against former interim WBC champion Dillian Whyte. Franklin lost that bout via majority decision fighting on Whyte’s home turf at the OVO Arena in Wembley. Despite coming off a loss, Franklin will have another immediate chance to make a big impact at the elite levels of the heavyweight division against Joshua this weekend.
