Join us here at Bloody Elbow for live results, discussion, and play-by-play as UFC Vegas 47: Hermansson vs. Strickland event goes down from the promotion’s APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The main event for this fight night will take place in the middleweight division, with the streaking (and controversial) Sean Strickland facing off with veteran Jack Hermansson. The co-main also takes place at middleweight (four of the six main card fights actually go down at 185) with Punahele Soriano meeting Nick Maximov.

This will be an ESPN+ show but will be kicking off a little earlier than usual. The seven-fight preliminary card is scheduled to start at 4pm ET/1pm PT on ESPN+. The six-fight main card is also on ESPN+, and that is supposed to start at 7pm ET/4pm PT. For the areas outside of the United States, you can catch all the scheduled contests on UFC Fight Pass.

Main Card

Jack Hermansson vs. Sean Strickland

Round 1 – Hermansson with a leg kick. Strickland jabs and fights off a takedown attempt. He drags him down briefly but there’s not much there. More jabs from both men. Strickland is getting the better of it. Body kick from Strickland. Hermansson kicks low but that’s a lot of jabs. They trade a bit. Nothing major. More jabs and a front kick from Strickland. 10-9 Strickland.

Round 2 – Hermansson comes out trying to make up for the lackluster first. He’s not landing much though. More jabs from Strickland. Hermansson gets clipped with a counter. Hard lead leg kick from The Joker. Takedown attempt from Hermansson is rebuffed. They trade again. Body kick from Hermansson. Strickland responds. Hermansson kicks low again. Strickland with a straight right. They brawl a bit, but it’s Strickland taking advantage with more body kicks. Strickland with a right that drops his opponent! He doesn’t jump in after him though. Interesting. 10-9 Strickland.

Round 3 – Strickland leads with the jab, again. Hermansson with more low kicks. More jabs from Strickland are negating Hermansson’s low kick game to a degree. So he goes to the body. Hermansson lands a wide left. But Strickland fires back with a body kick. Strickland is just sitting behind the jab and frustrating Hermansson, and mixing in a few kicks. 10-9 Strickland again.

Round 4 – Strickland starts off with the jab yet again. Hermansson tries to change things up by wading in to brawl, but he doesn’t land. Strickland sticks to the game plan and goes back to the….you guessed it, the jab. After stuffing a shot. Hermansson tries to go wide around the jab, which actually works for a bit. Strickland with a low kick. Hermansson misses a bunch. Hermansson finally connects with a good shot, but Strickland just eats it. Strickland has a bloody nose. 10-9 Strickland.

Round 5 – Hermansson comes out hard. Strickland sticks to what got him here, with jabs and distance. Hermansson with some kicks low and high. Jabs from Strickland. Superman punch from Hermansson. Hermansson is pressuring but not landing anything super effective. They trade leg kicks. Hermansson looks for a takedown but no dice. Strickland eats a low kick and lands back with a combo and a jab. He’s unloading now. All Strickland. 10-9 and 50-45 Strickland on my card.
