UFC president Dana White isn’t shy when it comes to speaking about his love of gambling. And over the weekend, he put a lot of money on a boxer he admires, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, to take out opponent Caleb Plant and become the first undisputed champion at 168 pounds.

Canelo, who took on Plant in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Vegas with the UFC was running Madison Square Garden in New York the same night, finished Plant in the 11th round. Which was music to White’s ears, because he bet a whopping 100k on Alvarez to end it before the final horn. ESPN’s Marc Raimondi shared the news and a pic of the ticket:

As you can see, White turned a profit of $41,666 for the -240 bet.

White wasn’t a big fan of Showtime running the boxing PPV against his UFC 268 show, but he knows what Canelo brings to the table. Following his main-event win at UFC 268, UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman again stated that he’d like to test himself in a boxing match against Alvarez one day. Dana did not agree:

“I watched the Canelo fight tonight. You don’t want to fight Canelo. Come on, man. Let’s stop this shit,” he said.

“If Canelo wants to fight over here, let’s do it. He don’t want to box Canelo.”
