Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant lasted 11 rounds, with the now undisputed super middleweight champion from Mexico dropping Plant twice in that deciding round to end the contest. Just minutes prior to the finish though, the pair hilariously had a full-on conversation mid-fight.
The sequence occurred in the ninth round, where Plant had already won a couple of rounds at that point, but likely still down against Canelo. They both seemed to have gained a healthy respect for each other by then, and Plant just started talking to him.

Plant: “You’re pretty good.”
Plant: “Am I pretty good?”
Canelo: “Yeah.”
Plant: “This is a good fight right here.”
Canelo: “I like it.”
Plant: “I respect your skills.”
Canelo: “I know.”
Plant: “I’m pretty good for 21-0, huh?”
The crowd then started to boo, so Plant finally decided to stop talking and continue fighting.
Bloody Elbow unofficially scored that ninth round for Plant, but unfortunately for him, the next few minutes ended up being big rounds for Canelo until the eventual 11 TKO.
