Former UFC champion Conor McGregor was due to appear in Dublin’s High Court yesterday for a pretrial motion regarding a civil lawsuit brought against him by a young woman (per theJournal.ie). Police investigated the accusation at the centre of this lawsuit, but no criminal charges were ever brought against McGregor. McGregor has denied all claims that have been made against him.

The court hearing planned for Monday did not take place. Instead, the matter has been adjourned until March 2022.

The pretrial motion, which was scheduled to be held before Mr. Justice Mark Heslin, was intended to discuss the plaintiff’s request that documents and materials, which she says can help prove her claims, be made available.

Two lawsuits against McGregor were filed in January 2020. According to the New York Times one of those lawsuits claims that McGregor sexually assaulted the plaintiff at a Dublin hotel in December 2018.

The Independent.ie has claimed that the lawsuit is seeking millions of dollars in damages. That outlet also reported that the second lawsuit against McGregor is cites personal injuries. That lawsuit was reportedly filed by the mother of the plaintiff involved in the larger lawsuit.

The two lawsuits were filed just before McGregor faced Donald Cerrone in the main event of UFC 246. McGregor won that contest by TKO. He returned to the Octagon a year later and suffered a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier. He fought Poirier again this summer, losing by TKO after suffering a broken leg.
