The main event for UFC 267 saw a 42-year-old #1 contender in Glover Teixeira upset the light heavyweight champion, Jan Blachowicz, to finally become a world champion. Not a ton went on during the first frame. Glover got himself a takedown, and spent the rest of the round utilizing a can opener, controlling, and dropping short strikes. They began trading punches sin the seocnd, with Glover dazing the champ with a hook. Then, Teixeira got himself another takedown, scrambled to the back, and then sunk a rear-naked choke to defy Father Time become the UFC’s new champ. What a feel good moment!

Jan Blachowicz vs. Glover Teixeira, Round 2

Glover flurries early. Left hook from Blachowicz. Teixeira ducks under for a leg, but gets stuffed this tme. Nice four-punch combo from the champ. They both land at the same time. Uppercut from Jan. Glover battles to the cage. They reset. Blachowicz defends a takedown attempt again. Jab from the champ. They both land big, but Glover staggers Blachowicz! The champ fires back! Glover shoots again and he’s down. Halfway through the round. He’s pressed against the cage. Glover passes to half, and mount. Jan gives up his back! Teixeira gets a choke! HE JUST SUBMITTED BLACHOWICZ! NEW CHAMP! 42 YEARS OLD!
