UFC Vegas 41 medical suspensions: Marvin Vettori, Paulo Costa among 7 fighters facing six-month terms

Marvin Vettori and Paulo Costa were involved in an entertaining five-round war at UFC Vegas 41 on Saturday night. The ’Italian Dream’ bested ‘Borrachinha’ by unanimous decision, but both men left the Octagon with a few injuries that could put them on the sidelines until next year.

Vettori suffered injuries to both his forearms and right knee, while Costa sustained damage to his right foot and left knee. Both need clearance from an orthopedic doctor to return to competition before April.

Marvin Vettori (both forearms, right knee): Must have X-rays of both forearms and MRI of right knee. Should result come back positive, clearance from an orthopedic doctor needed or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension/no contest until Dec. 8 and no contact until Nov. 23

Paulo Costa (right foot, left eye): Must have X-ray of right foot and clearance for left eye. Should result come back positive, clearance from an orthopedic doctor and ophthalmologist needed or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension/no contest until Dec. 8 and no contact until Nov. 23

Grant Dawson (broken eleventh rib): Must have broken eleventh rib cleared by thoracic doctor or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension until Nov. 23 and no contact until Nov. 14

Ricky Glenn: Suspended until Nov. 23 and no contact until Nov. 14

Joselyne Edwards (nasal laceration): Suspended until Dec. 8 and no contact until Nov. 23

Alex Caceres (lip laceration): Suspended until Nov. 14 and no contact until Nov. 7

Seung Woo Choi: Suspended until Dec. 8 and no contact until Nov. 23

Francisco Trinaldo (left hand): Must have X-ray of left hand. Should result come back positive, clearance from an orthopedic doctor needed or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension/no contest until Nov. 23 and no contact until Nov. 14

Dwight Grant: Suspended until Nov. 23 and no contact until Nov. 14

Ike Villanueva: Suspended until Dec. 6 and no contact until Nov. 23

Gregory Rodrigues: Suspended until Nov. 23 and no contact until Nov. 14

Jun Yong Park: Suspended until Dec. 23 and no contact until Dec. 8

Mason Jones (right knee): Must have MRI of right knee. Should result come back positive, clearance from an orthopedic doctor needed or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension/no contest until Nov. 23 and no contact until Nov. 14

David Onama: Suspended until Nov. 23 and no contact until Nov. 14

Maria Oliveira: Suspended until Nov. 23 and no contact until Nov. 14

Laureano Staropoli (left eyebrow cuts): Suspended until Dec. 8 and no contact until Nov. 23

Khama Worthy (lip cut): Suspended until Dec. 8 and no contact until Nov. 23

Jeff Molina (right ankle): Must have X-ray of right ankle. Should result come back positive, clearance from an orthopedic doctor needed or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension/no contest until Nov. 14 and no contact until Nov. 7

Daniel Lacerda: Suspended until Dec. 8 and no contact until Nov. 23

Livia Renata Souza: Suspended until Nov. 23 and no contact until Nov. 14

Zviad Lazishvili (right foot): Must have X-ray of right foot. Should result come back positive, clearance from an orthopedic doctor needed or no contest until April 22, 2022. Minimum suspension/no contest until Nov. 23 and no contact until Nov. 14
