If Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo don’t hate the sight each over by now, they just might after this coming January. According to Brett Okamoto of ESPN the flyweight title trilogy fight has been moved from this year’s UFC 269 to UFC 270 on January 22.
If all goes as planned this will be the third time these men have met each other since December 12 last year. Neither has fought anyone else since then.
Their first contest was a majority draw at UFC 256, which meant Figueiredo retained the UFC flyweight title. Their rematch this June ended when Moreno snatched up a third round submission and, with it, the UFC belt.
Okamoto also reported that, as of yet, the UFC does not have a location for UFC 270. However, Anaheim, CA appears to be a top contender for the event.
UFC 270 is expected to be headlined by a UFC heavyweight unification bout between champion Francis Ngannou and interim champ Ciryl Gane. Also slated for that event is Jared Cannonier vs. Derek Brunson and Cody Stamann vs. Said Nurmagomedov.
