Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury first faced off in 2018, which brought an instant classic of a heavyweight championship fight. The bout went the full 12 rounds, but there was drama Round 9, with Fury seemingly up on the scorecards, until Wilder showed the power he is known for and decked him with a left hook and an overhand right. Fury looked to be completely out but got up like The Undertaker and went on to put on a hell of a fight until the final bell.
Judge Alejandro Rochin scored the fight 115–111 for Wilder. Judge Robert Tapper had it 114–112 for Fury. The third judge in Phil Edwards scored it 113–113, ending up with a split draw.
Two years later, Fury dominated en route to a seventh round TKO finish. They’ll clash again in an unlikely trilogy on Saturday night.
