After his second victory over Conor McGregor at UFC 264, all the conversation surrounding Dustin Poirier was about a potential fight against reigning champion Charles Oliveira. Three months later, things have come to fruition.

This week, “The Diamond” tweet this out to stir up a conversation.

On Tuesday, the champ confirmed the news to make things official. The two will headline UFC 269 on December 11 at a still undetermined location.

Apart from his two wins over McGregor in 2021, Poirier also holds noteworthy victories over former UFC champions Eddie Alvarez and Max Holloway. He is also one of the three men to beat the ever-entertaining human “Highlight” Justin Gaethje.

Oliveira, meanwhile, impressively captured 155-pound gold at UFC 262 in May against Michael Chandler via second-round TKO. Before that, he held an eight-fight win streak with victories over Jim Miller, Nik Lentz, Kevin Lee, and most notably, Tony Ferguson.

Co-headlining the event is the rescheduled bantamweight title fight between champ-champ Amanda Nunes and Julianna Peña.
