While one of the UFC’s most polarizing figures was getting himself in trouble in Sin City, the other one was being given a huge honor back east. In an Instagram post on Wednesday, “The Notorious” Conor McGregor revealed he was granted the key to the city of Miami.

The Mac with The Key to The City of Miami!

Thank you Mayor Suarez for bestowing this great honor upon me and with my family present to witness. A very proud moment for me in my life. Thank you! Your hospitality and care for my family and team will be forever remembered.

God Bless you and this great city! May the spirit of Miami live within us all ❤️ @mayorofmiami

McGregor isn’t a stranger to Magic City. It was where he was arrested and charged with strong-arm robbery and criminal mischief in 2019 for smashing a fan’s phone outside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel.

His supposed felony charge was later reduced to a misdemeanor but was subsequently dropped after reaching a settlement with the alleged victim.

Well, as an (arguably) wise man once said, “It’s the fight business, man. Every day, we got stuff going on.”
