The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 2 champion Leonardo Santos had to withdraw from his upcoming fight against Alexander Hernandez. Although the Brazilian did not state what reason led him to pull out of the match, he wrote a message to his fans on his personal Instagram account to announce the news.

While Santos claimed he asked the UFC to postpone the fight for two weeks so he would not have to miss a match, it seems that the promotion was not willing to negotiate, according to his post. Now, Leonardo is not sure when he will be back in the Octagon, but hopes it may be sooner rather than later.

“Hi guys, what’s up? My next bout would happen on October 2nd. However, (due to) some personal issues, (I asked the UFC) to postpone the fight for two weeks. Unfortunately, I think that it won’t be possible. So, right from the moment that I get the new date, I’ll come back here and let you know.” Santos wrote.

So far, it is unclear whether the bout will be entirely scrapped or if the UFC will look for a replacement and keep Hernandez on the October 2nd. UFC Vegas 38 card, at the UFC Apex.

In his last outing, Santos (18-4-1) suffered his first ever UFC defeat, a knockout loss to Grant Dawson, back in March. Before that, the 41-year-old was on a six-fight winning streak, which included victories over Kevin Lee, Anthony Rocco Martin and Stevie Ray, among other athletes.
