Heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko is the latest fighter to weigh in on Khabib Nurmagomedov’s controversial comments on ring girls where the former UFC lightweight champion labeled them ‘the most useless people in mixed martial arts”.
Fedor has more pressing issues to address but ‘The Last Emperor’ does think ring girls should be dressed more appropriately.
“The girls are showing the number of the round…[Round shaped] plates. The only [thing] is to dress them more decent,” Fedor said in a recent interview (transcript via SportsKeeda).
“You know I don’t have [anything to do with it]. I have enough problems and affairs of my team and my family to not fill my head with stupid things,” the heavyweight great added.
Khabib has faced widespread backlash for his comments, with UFC ring girl Arianny Celeste and UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko criticizing ‘The Eagle’ for his remarks.
Emelianenko will return to the cage after a two-year hiatus to take on ex-UFC heavyweight Timothy Johnson at Bellator 269. The event will take place at the VTB Arena in Moscow, Russia.
