UFC Vegas 37 video highlights: Anthony Smith rocks and submits Ryan Spann

The UFC Vegas 37 main event was a wild one! It didn’t take very long for the UFC’s #6 ranked light heavyweight, Anthony Smith, to hurt the #11 ranked, Ryan Spann, with strikes before putting him away with a rear-naked choke. A mean counter punch from Smith is what initially rocked Spann, and then then some more followup lasers had Ryan shooting a desperation takedown. Once Smith was on top, it was only a matter of time before he was on the back and applying an RNC. What a blur of a fight!

Anthony Smith vs. Ryan Spann, Round 1

Smith with a low kick. Front kick from Spann. Another low kick from Smith and he backs away. Left hook from Smith. Spann grabs Smith and carries him all the way across the cage, but can’t put him down. Smith lands a left hook, and another one drops Spann! Smith swarms on the cage and looks for a choke. Now and armbar. Spann spins away though! He lands a knee to the chest and gets back up. Smith lands two more big shots right away. Spann with a hard jab. Low kick from Smith and another left hook. Spann is hurt! A right puts Spann down as he tries to spin. Smith tries to work from side but Spann gets to his knees. Smith takes the back. Elbow to the side of the head, and he flattens Spann out. He looks for the choke and Spann taps! Anthony Smith with the domination! They start chirping after the finish and have to be separated.
