It’s fight day for UFC Vegas 35, which is happening tonight from the company’s familiar APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. We’ve got quite the banger of a main event here! Longtime ranked striking ace, Edson Barboza, is scheduled to scrap for 25-minutes with surging standup aficionado, Giga Chikadze. Bloody Elbow is here to provide the betting odds for this dream matchup of top-10 featherweights, as well as the lines for the rest of this card’s contests.
The betting line for this main event matchup opened up rather tight, with the #10 ranked 145-pounder Chikadze being favored at -125, and the #9 ranked Barboza starting out as a -105 underdog. Since then, a plus line has sprouted. As of now, Edson has become the betting favorite with his moneyline circling around -117, and Giga is now being offered up with an underdog tag of +107. This one definitely seems like a tossup, with both men possessing some of, if not the very best striking in the UFC. One is a veteran looking for an elusive title shot, while the other is just starting to make his run to the top.
The bookies do not foresee these two world class strikers making it all 25-minutes. The prop bet ’Fight doesn’t go to decision’ holds a favored line of -158, with a +122 comeback on the ‘Fight goes to decision’ option. The over/under for this five-rounder has been set at 4.5 rounds. ‘Under 4.5 rounds’ is available at a favored line of -128, with ‘Over 4.5 rounds’ barely being found at a plus line of +102.
Barboza has been labeled as slightly more likely than Chikadze to find a finish. The proposition ‘Barboza wins inside distance’ is on deck for +180, with the ‘Chikadze wins inside distance’ wager residing at a bit more lucrative line of +215. Both men are tremendously lethal on the feet, but they both also display solid defensive fundamentals as well. I wish we had odds for whether or not either man will attempt, or even land, a takedown.
