The WBA welterweight title showdown is now all set.

Manny Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39 KOs) came in just under the welterweight limit for this bout with Cuba’s Yordenis Ugas (26-4, 12 KOs), who is the “champ” even though Pacquiao won the belt from Keith Thurman. Ugas got elevated by the WBA last year because reasons and never reinstated Pacquiao after making him champion in recess. We won’t get into this further.

Anyway, Ugas is replacing Errol Spence Jr after the WBC and IBF champ was forced to withdraw with a retinal tear, which he’s since had surgery on. This is still a very compelling (but far less glamorous) matchup between the Pacman and Ugas, who is a very good boxer and may yet spring a surprise on the Filipino legend.

You can watch the video of the main event weigh-ins and staredown at the top of the page.
