The current rumblings on the celebrity boxing scene have YouTuber Logan Paul returning to the ring to take on another combat sports legend. This time, Paul is reportedly in talks to face former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

After boxing fellow YouTuber KSI, Paul faced-off with Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently in an eight round exhibition bout. The fight had no judges and, despite knockouts being permitted, the match was completed without a winner being announced.

Silva recently took a win over former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. That victory, a split decision, was earned under pro boxing rules.

‘The Spider’ is now in search of a new opportunity in the boxing ring and, according to reports by ESPN, his team are in serious talks with Paul.

Silva’s boxing coach Luiz Dorea seems excited for the prospect of Silva landing a big money fight with Paul. He spoke with Sherdog about the possibility and how such a fight would go.

“Logan proved to be a very brave and talented kid doing an exhibition fight against the legend [Floyd] Mayweather,” Dorea said. “But, of course, if it were in official rules, the result would be different. Let’s see if he will keep hiding under exhibition rules or if he will test himself in the real world [under professional rules]. In that case, I have no doubt Anderson will knock him out.”

It’s not known whether or not Silva and Paul’s camps are discussing an exhibition bout or a bout under pro rules.

Paul’s younger brother Jake Paul reached 3-0 in his pro boxing career in April, when he knocked out former ONE and Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren. Paul’s next bout is against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. That goes down on Showtime on August 29.
