One of the most meaningful MMA matches between elite featherweights is going down tonight (July 31st) at Bellator 263 at The Forum in Los Angeles, California. The promotion’s champ-champ, Patricio “Pitbull” Freire will be locking horns with the 17-0 undefeated A.J. McKee, with not only the belt on the line but also a cool $1M at stake. Bloody Elbow is here to bring you the betting odds for this top shelf showcase of the very best that the world has to offer at 145-pounds, as well as for the rest of the Bellator 263 lineup.

When the betting odds first opened for Pitbull vs. McKee, some betting sites had Patricio listed as a -130 betting favorite, with A.J. starting out as a +100 underdog. Since then, this line has only tightened up. Now, the same sites have both fighters on deck with the exact same -110 moneylines. McKee is no longer available at a plus line with any of the bookies listed in the graphic below. An even money fight seems highly appropriate here, so good on anyone who picked up A.J. as an underdog option when that was a thing.

This is a classic case of the proven veteran champ taking on the young and hungry new breed of MMA fighter. Pitbull is old school guillotines, while McKee is guillotines PLUS unorthodox modified neck cranks. Patricio is more polished when delivering haymakers on the feet, while McKee is less likely to have prolonged exchanges in the pocket, but much more likely to mix in head kicks. Both fighters are complete and can fight anywhere, and they’re also both dangerous and in dog shape. Will this be a changing of the guard, or will it be a prince’s first learning lesson en route to his turn at ruling the division?

According to the odds, there’s a strong chance that these two serial killers will not be making it all-five rounds. The prop bet ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ is sporting a strongly favored -235 betting line, with a +182 come back on the ‘Fight goes to decision’ line. The bookies actually have Pitbull listed as the fighter more likely to come up with a finish. ‘Freire wins inside distance’ is trending around +150, while ‘McKee wins inside distance’ can be had at a larger underdog value as high as +225. The over/under for this top-tier title fight has been set at 2.5 rounds. With that, Gamblers can lay the price on ‘Over 2.5 rounds’ for -130, or lay the price on ‘Under 2.5 rounds’ at a slight dog value of +110.
