The UFC remains in the cozy confines of the APEX facility this weekend for UFC Vegas 33, with a card headlined by Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland. The co-main for this one is Kyung Ho Kang vs. Rani Yahya.
The main and co-main eventers all made weight without issue. However, further down the card there were a bunch of mishaps.
The prelim portion of the event was scheduled to feature former UFC flyweight champion Nicco Montano vs. Wu Yanan in the top spot. However, Montano—who has struggled with her health and making weight for the duration of her UFC career—came in 7 lbs heavy. That caused her fight to be called off.
Also missing weight was Philip Rowe, who was a couple of pounds over the welterweight limit. And Ronnie Lawrence never even made it to the scales, so his fight with Trevin Jones has been called of.
The event was already missing a number of fights due to various injuries, VISA issues and at least one positive test for COVID-19. In total nine match-ups were nixed for this event.
